The Ship
Chapter 4: Painted Faces and Long Hair

I couldn’t believe it there was a ship and I saw that the fire wasn’t making any smoke any more I shouted to Ralph he started running. I tried to tell him he would need Piggy’s glasses I didn’t know if he could hear me. The ship was moving farther and farther away I didn’t think he could start the fire up in time. I was looking for Piggy to get his glasses but he was nowhere in sight. Ralph looked like he was in pain his face looking malevolently. I was worried that he would not make it if he went back to go get the glasses. When he got to the fire it was out and the ship was no longer in sight. Our chances of getting off the island where gone. He looked mad.

We were standing there and then we saw jack coming out of the bushes with a line of boys behind him they were carrying something on a stick. It was the pig Jack finally killed the pig. There where gouts of blood dripping off the pig. Jack was so happy that he finally caught the pig. He didn’t know that just a few minutes ago a ship was in sight and their chances of being rescued were just off the shore. Jack started to talk about how he caught the pig suddenly Ralph pointed out to sea his swarthiness face was mad. He yelled “there was a ship!” he started yelling at Jack about how he wasn’t at the fire and how he was to obsessed with that pig that he missed our chance of getting off the island. Jack apologized for not being there. Piggy was winning jack punched him and Piggy’s glasses flew off he started crying Ralph picked them up. He looked like he needed some balm.

Later during the fire we roasted the pig in pieces and Jack didn’t give Piggy any. So I gave him some and Jack saw that and through a piece at me and said eat that. Jack was being belligerence. After that Ralph called a metting I was worried about the littluns.
