Chapter 5: Beast from Water

I was scared when Ralph said we were going to have a meeting at night. Everyone rolled their eyes, I could tell they were not happy about the meeting. This was the first time we were having a meeting at night in the dark. As usual the boys were on the twister just waiting to fall off. I think the meeting was about the ship. Ralph started talking about how he thought that we needed to enforce the rules that we made in the beginning when we first made a leader. He was mad that everyone is going to the bathroom and not going by the rocks where they are supposed to not by the food. I agreed with him.

I agreed with most of the things he said then the littluns brought up the beastie. The whole beastie thing was ludicrous. I am actually a little afraid of the beastie myself. But it was becoming annoying how the littluns where bringing it up every meeting. They littluns let the lamentation out during the night. It was really weird because all of a sudden Percival started saying incantations everyone thought it was the beastie. Then when I was trying to talk everyone ignored me and told me to shut up. But I had the conch so Ralph let me talk.

Jack was discursive about the rules thing pretty soon it came down to Ralph, Jack, and Me. Everyone else was gone from the meeting. Then Jack snapped at us he had gone crazy I was afraid of him. He was jeering me we couldn’t see him so it was really scary I didn’t know if I was going to live. Jack was telling Ralph to blow the conch and everyone would come running. He was afraid that the boys wouldn’t listen and then it would show he had no control. I knew this was going to be bad.
