Aunt Alexandra came over to stay with the kids and was trying to make Scout more feminine like she always does. I have been getting really nervous about the case. My kids keep getting in fights or in trouble because of me taking the case. On top of it Aunt Alexandra has to argue with me about the case she keeps telling me to drop the case. She thinks it is a disgrace to the Finch’s. But I know I have to do it. One night Scout and Jem started to fight because Scout got mad at something Jem said I had to break it up and I sent them to bed. Then Scout found Dill hiding under her bed. He ran away from his house because his parents didn’t pay any attention to him. I told Scout to get him so food and then he went to Jem’s room to go to bed. I didn’t know what I was going to do with Dill and the case was coming up so fast.
They moved Tom Robinson to the Maycomb jail. Everyone thinks there is going to be a lynching. But not if I have something to say about it. I drove out to town at ten o’clock to go to the jail and then Mr. Walter Cunningham and a group of men croud around me and then my kids ran out. First Scout the Jem and then Dill to go back to the house then Scout started to talk to Mr. Walter Cunningham about his son and then she gets them to go away. I was afraid my kids were going to get hurt because they threatened them.
