Journal #1- Chapters 1-3 from the perspective of

My name is Jem I am from a small town called Maycomb there is nothing to here and all we ever do is gossip. I have a little sister who is six years old her name is Scout. She is my best friend we do everything together. My dad Atticus is a lawyer. As I said me and my sister do everything together including playing outside when we heard a noise at first we thought it was a dog but it was really just a boy named Dill. He said that he is staying for the entire summer with his aunt. When we were talking to him he spotted the Radley’s house. We told him that a terrible man lived there his name was Boo Radley. Nobody went to his house and when I say nobody I mean nobody. Boo Radley will kill you if you go to his house even if you just touch it your gone. When I told Dill that he dared me to go and get Boo Radley to come out of his house I was scared. So I told him I would touch the house, I was still scared but I had to do it.

                 When Dill left because summer was over it was back to the same old boring life in Maycomb. School was coming up soon. It was scouts first day at school. She asked me to take her but really didn’t want to. I condescended to take her. When we got to school I told Scout to leave me alone and not to irk meat school because I didn’t want her to embarrass me in front of my friends. I was fine with her around me at home but not at school in front of my friends.

                I saw my sister with Walter Cunnigham’s face in the dirt I got mad at her and told her to stop Scout told me about what Ms. Caroline did in class to Walter. She asked him if he forgot his lunch and then he said yes so she said that she would loan him a quarter for lunch but he refused. Ms. Caroline didn’t know that Walter was really poor and does take what he can’t pay.
