Chapter 7: Shadows and Tall Trees

I saw the beastie I knew that it was real of course Ralph didn’t believe it but I showed him yesterday when we went to the other side of the island. When we were out there looking for the beastie it started to get dark. So Ralph asked one of us to go back and tell Piggy that we were all safe and that we were camping out. Not being sagely Simon volunteered to go back and tell Piggy. I think that he would deserve it if he died.

Ralph told everyone to go up to the mountain because he thought that was where the beastie was. After we were up to the mountain everyone was windy so I climbed the rest of the way up the mountain and when I got to the top I saw the beastie it had wings and claws and its head was bobbing up and down imperviously I watched it then I ran back to the others where Ralph was. I was telling them about the beastie and Ralph looked at me like I was crazy. Ralph thought that I was lying so that we could go out and kill it.

So Ralph had us all go up to the top and see for themselves that there really was a beast. When we got to the top Ralph told everyone to crawl on the floor so that the bravado beastie couldn’t see us then it moved its head and looked straight at us we all ran back down the mountain as fast as we could. When we got back to Piggy we told him what happened and that the beastie was real. Later that night we were all scared I just wanted to be playing rugger right then. I was tired of being stuck on the island. I wanted to kill the stupid beastie so that we could be calm and not worried that the beastie was going to kill us. Then we could think of a way to get us off the island.
