I heard that there was a huge crowed coming to see me and the case. When I looked up towards the black are I saw Reverend Sykes and next to him was Mr. Finch’s kids. I was surprised that they were up there. When Heck Tate came up to the stand as the witness he was saying that he went to the Ewells house and saw Mayella Ewell on the floor and that she said that it raped her. Witch I know I didn’t and that she was lying. I wanted to say that it wasn’t true but I knew I would get my chance to once I went up to be the witness. I knew that if I was going to make it out of here alive with this prejudice jury it was going to be with Mr. Finch as my lawyer. He was the only one who really truly believed that I was innocent. And then after that Mr. Finch cross examines the witness and finds out that they didn’t call a doctor when they saw the wounds. I could tell what Mr. Finch was trying to do he was trying to prove that Mr. Ewell was the one who beat her up and that I couldn’t have hurt her because the punches were from a man who was left handed but my left hand was cripple. Also Mr. Ewell said that he heard a scream from the forest when he was carrying some kindling and then he ran to the house and saw Tom Robinson raping his daughter. But what didn’t make sense is that the kids didn’t hear the scream and they were closer because they were in the dump yard.
Then Mayella is called up to the stand and she says that she told me to come in and help her break up a dresser and that she has a nickel for him. Then that I took advantage of her and then beat her up. After some questions about her testimony that Mr. Finch the defendant asks her see starts to cry and doesn’t answer any more questions. Then I was called up t the stand and I was a little nervous but I didn’t want to look like I had anything to hide. I told them what happened how I was in a predicament and that she tried to get on me and that I tried to resist not indulging in the situation but she kissed me I was oblivious that her dad was watching. Then her father saw and yelled at her then I ran as fast I could and then they took me in to jail.
